Description

The High Speed Torus Cutter is an unparalleled tool for use on robots with an extremely high stock removal rate. Unlike grinding tools, the cutter does not generate hazardous or explosive dust, making it ideal for a variety of applications on aluminium materials. Thanks to its compact design, the High Speed Torus Cutter is the ideal tool for working in hard-to-reach areas and on delicate points such as grooves, pockets and tight radii and contours. The High Speed Torus Cutter is used with two tungsten carbide cutting inserts.

The Cutter perfectly complements the ALUMASTER High Speed Disc in the HSD-R 50 version and burrs with the ALU cut.

Advantages
  • Specially developed design for use in hard-to-reach areas.
  • Does not generate hazardous or explosive dust.
  • An extraction system is not required.
  • Exceptionally high stock removal rate.
  • Reduced vibrations thanks to small contact surface.
  • Turnable and replaceable tungsten carbide cutting inserts.
  • Can be used face-down.
Recommendations for use
  • The tool has primarily been designed for use on aluminium, wrought aluminium alloys and cast aluminium. Non-ferrous metals with a relatively low strength and fibre-reinforced plastics can also be machined. This must be checked for the specific application on a case-by-case basis.
  • The optimum rotational speed and power output for the tool drive are required for costeffective use of the Torus Cutter.
  • The High Speed Torus Cutter can be used on both the circumference and face.
Ordering notes
  • The cutting inserts are not included in delivery.
Safety notes
  • Tighten the mounting bolts of the cutting inserts using a hexalobular socket wrench TX 15. The tightening torque should be approx. 4 Nm. Alternatively, use a torque spanner with a tightening torque of 4 Nm.
  • Loose cutting inserts may break during use. Therefore, check regularly whether they are attached securely.
  • Do not use damaged cutting inserts! They may break!
